We all know that feel good feeling of buying something new. That magical moment when serotonin hits our brains rewarding us for our latest purchase. Many of us are unaware of how this feel good-induced moment is a feel bad moment for our environment.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fast Fashion<\/b><\/a>: Fast fashion has completely reshaped how consumers consume clothing products. If you\u2019re unfamiliar with fast fashion, it has been a growing trend that results from online shopping. Firstly, it is products that were made quickly to fit a momentary trend. Often, it offers us as consumers cheaper goods. Budget friendly to our wallet, costly to our planet. Secondly, fast fashion is guilty of largely impacting the following factors; waste, water usage, the carbon footprint, and pollution.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Waste<\/b><\/a>: The average person throws away 70 to 80 pounds of clothing annually. Overall, 95% of those textiles head to landfills, when they could be recycled. This means that we\u2019re producing over 13 million tons of waste from textiles each year. <\/span>This matters because it can take on average up to 200+ years for textiles to break back down into organic matter<\/b><\/a>.  <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
